PRIME MINISTER RESPONDS TO MICHAEL FABRICANT AND GUARANTEES FUNDING FOR THE NATIONAL MEMORIAL ARBORETUM
In a BBC Radio interview, the Prime Minister has guaranteed funding for the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire “for as long as I am Prime Minister”. This follows Michael Fabricant highlighting the halting of the MOD grant which was replaced with a small one-off payment from banking fines.
David Cameron said in the interview he had been "moved" by his visits to the memorial and pledged to back it for "years to come".
"No-one should be in any doubt that this government and this prime minister strongly support the arboretum. I’m confident if the National Memorial Arboretum continues to need support it will continue to get support" David Cameron said.
