NORTH LICHFIELD SAYS "NOT ENOUGH POLICE"

A survey conducted over last weekend (17/18 March) in North Lichfield shows that 78% of respondents believe that the level of policing is inadequate. 77% asked for a more visible police presence including police on foot as well as in patrol cars. 9% suggested more closed circuit TV and more youth facilities.

When asked about how the journey to the City Centre could be improved, 41% said they were opposed to the traffic calming humps in the area.

But one of the biggest concerns expressed by local residents is the future of the Victoria Hospital and its Maternity Unit.

Michael Fabricant comments: "I will continue to press the Government to keep their promises on health and policing. Expectations were very high when Labour was elected, but the House of Commons Treasury Committee revealed yesterday that the Government has spent less on health, education, and the police over the last four years than the last Conservative Government."
