News Release 17th July 2010MICHAEL VISITS LAGER BREWERY
Michael Fabricant visited the Freedom Brewery near Abbots Bromley on Friday 16th July. "The brewery specialises in the making of real lager - as opposed to real ale", says Michael. "Unlike most mass produced lagers in the UK, this lager is matured for several weeks and not a couple of days. And you can taste the difference! It is like the full hoppy flavours experienced on the European continent. "Following my meeting with Edward and Susan Mayman who are the husband and wife team who run the brewery, I have set myself two main tasks: To persuade Government ministers to encourage pubs to offer guest lagers as well as guest ales which already must be sold by pubs, and to have Freedom supply lagers to the bars of the House of Commons!" The brewery is based on Bagots Park near Abbots Bromley and Michael Fabricant also launched their new Breweries Tour facility.
