MICHAEL WINS LICHFIELD

Michael Fabricant has held onto his Lichfield Parliamentary constituency with a staggering two and a half times his previous majority having won 54.4% of the vote making Lichfield one the safest Conservative seats in the country.

"I am honoured to have been re-elected to Lichfield and am stunned and humbled by the support shown in me by local voters. I must now return this trust and the work supporting constituents continues now - well, maybe on Monday!"

Swing from Labour to Conservative: >9.0%
Conservative Majority: 17,673 (previously 7,080)
Turnout of electorate: 71.4%
