PM QUESTION ON STAFFS AMBULANCE 'PULLED'

Michael Fabricant's question to the Prime Minister today (Question 4) has been 'pulled' due to the House being Prorogued (suspended) prior to the State Opening of Parliament by Her Majesty the Queen next week. The Question on the House of Commons Order Paper reads: "To ask the Prime Minister if he will make a statement on the future of the Staffordshire Ambulance Service and their community first responders". Tony Blair would have responded and then Michael would have been able to ask a further question.

Michael says: "I would have asked why crucial heart and asthma drugs in use by community first responders in other parts of the country have been suddenly withdrawn in Staffordshire on the false grounds that their use is in breach of the Medicines Act. I would then have asked the Prime Minister to meet a small delegation of Community First Responders from Staffordshire.

"Although I am a keen royalist, it's a shame that the Queen's State Opening of Parliament and the preceding prorogation has prevented me from asking this. I don't suspect a plot. But I will try to make these points later in the year."
