News Release

5th November 2005

$1800 RAISED TO FIGHT AIDS IN AFRICA

$1,800 (about £1,100) was bid last night (4th November) in Boston, Massachusetts for a meal at the House of Commons with Michael Fabricant. The money will go to fight Aids in Africa. The £1,100 dinner was auctioned at a dinner at the Harvard Business School where a pal of Michael's, Andy Street, is studying on their Advanced Management Program. Birmingham born Andy, the Director of Personnel of the John Lewis Partnership plc which owns the Waitrose supermarket chain which recently opened a brand new store in Lichfield, raised a total of $57,000 for Aids charities.

Michael says "I am looking forward to entertaining the couple who bid the $1,800. All of this money will go to fight Aids in Africa."
