HOLLY GROVE PRIMARY SCHOOL

Michael Fabricant today opened a £150,000 development which includes a new classroom and other facilities at Holly Grove Primary School in Chase Terrace, Burntwood. He also met the 'Holly Tots' - nursery school children who are based at the School meeting the needs of working parents. Holly Grove and The Willows School in Lichfield - which Michael recently visited - are the first schools in Staffordshire to offer nursery care in this way. But first, Michael Fabricant and Mrs Jenny Hawkins, Staffordshire's Director of Education, answered questions from each of the years at the School.

"I was asked a wide range of questions including about where I worked and why I became an MP. I was also asked about what I am going to do about dog poo on our streets and more facilities for young people in Burntwood" says Michael. "It was fascinating visiting the School and seeing the dedication of the staff and the attentiveness and good behaviour of the children. They clearly get a good start in life at Holly Grove and it is very encouraging to see them as our nation's future".

Headteacher, Mrs Julia Jones, says "I was delighted that Jenny Hawkins and Michael Fabricant were able to attend and open our new facilities. Both were instrumental in providing the much needed funds, £150,000, for our new classroom and other facilities".
