NETHERSTOWE STUDENTS VISIT 'COMMONS

Four sixth form students from Netherstowe High School in Lichfield and their history teacher visited Michael Fabricant at the House of Commons yesterday evening (Wednesday 5th May). This followed on from when the four interviewed Michael on TV as a part of key skills presentations for their A-S levels. "I was so impressed by their searching questions, which made Jeremy Paxman look like a wimp, that I invited them down for more at the House of Commons", says Michael Fabricant.

Stephen Morgan, 16, who interviewed Michael says: "For some of us this trip was an introduction to politics, for others it was a chance to develop further our zeal for political life. We gained appreciation for the complexities and inner workings of Parliament as well as seeing 'backstage' - some of the places you don't see on a regular tour. This experience has inspired me to seek a career in politics".

"It's great to see such enthusiasm and intelligence from Netherstowe students. This puts the lie to some of the stories we have recently been hearing about the School and its students. It was great to have them down in Westminster", Michael adds.
