News Release 29th April 2004DIXONS STORE IN LICHFIELDFollowing the announcement that 106 Dixons stores will close affecting over 1,000 staff, Michael Fabricant has written to John Clare, Dixons' Chief Executive, to ask about the future of the Lichfield branch. "Dixons in our market square provides a valuable service to Lichfield and Burntwood residents as well as to tourists visiting the City", says Michael Fabricant. "I hope that the store will not be closed and I have asked John Clare whether it is his intention to keep the branch open. I hope that the uncertainty can be resolved soon. I am sure that the staff who work there would welcome reassurance regarding their job prospects". |
