"SMOKING SHOULD BE BANNED IN PUBLIC PLACES" - OR SHOULD IT?

"This House believes that smoking should be banned in public places" has been chosen as the subject of debate for the 'Michael Fabricant - Arthur Price of England Annual School Speaking Competition' to be held on Friday 6th February, 7pm at the Guildhall in Lichfield. All the state secondary schools in the Lichfield Parliamentary constituency will take part, namely: King Edward VI, Nether Stowe High School, Chase Terrace Technology College, Chasetown High School, and The Friary.

The Speaker for the Debate (which is held on Parliamentary lines) will be The Rt Hon Eric Forth MP, a former Shadow Leader of the House of Commons and Minister form Education. He will also be a judge as will be the Mayor, Cllr Barry White, Deputy Mayor, Cllr Mrs Gwyneth Boyle, The Rotary Club of Lichfield St Chad President, Mr Tim Wadsworth, and Chairman of Arthur Price of England (who provide the cups) John Price OBE.
